What to Pack

RULE OF THUMB:
If you don’t need it, don’t bring it
+ Passport (should be in your small carry-on)
+ Driver’s license (should be in your small carry-on)
+ Sleeping bag (everyone except the interns) ??
+ Towels/wash cloths (bring some you can leave behind)
+ Cheap watch
+ Hat/work gloves/bandana
+ Sunglasses
+ Flip flops/water shoes
+ Comfortable work shoes/hiking shoes
+ Casual shoes for church
+ Bible/journal/pen
+ Camera
+ Snacks (in between meals)
+ Water bottle (to use all week) – drinking water will be provided
+ Toiletries
+ Sunscreen/chap stick
+ Insect repellent
+ Personal medicines
+ Plastic bags for dirty clothes
+ Flashlight & extra batteries
+ Rain poncho/jacket
+ Long sleeve, lightweight shirt
+ Book-sack (will need for hiking)
+ FYI – they have the same power outlets as we do

FELLAS: (clothing for seven days)
Think clothes that you can leave behind and bless them with
+ Several pairs of work pants/long shorts and t-shirts (no tank tops)
+ We will attend one church service (no jeans or t-shirts, must wear dress pants and dressy shirt)
+ Very casual clothes for work
+ Swim trunks and t-shirt

LADIES: (clothing for seven days)
Think clothes that you can leave behind and bless them with
+ Several pairs of work pants/knee-length shorts and t-shirts (no tank tops)
+ One light jacket/sweat-shirt
+ Shin length or long skirts/dresses for church with comfortable shoes/sandals
+ Conservative one-piece swim suit with shorts and t-shirt
+ Clothing should be modest and lose fitting (if you bring a dress or skirt, make sure it is past the knees.) No tank tops
+ We will attend one church service (no jeans or t-shirts)
+ If you were make-up, bring a small make-up bag with only the essentials

If you want to do laundry while there, please bring your own detergent and be prepaid to pay per load.

DON’T BRING:
+ Cologne/perfume
+ Jewelry
+ Expensive electronic devices
+ Expensive watch
